Community News March Issue

Welcome to all our subscribers including those of you who've joined us recently.
We've got a full calendar of green living events throughout the month - there's a smorgasbord to choose from including the Montville Sustainability Fair, Biochar & Bamboo Workshop, Edible Herbs & Weeds Workshop and series of Sustainable Homes Workshops at Sunshine Coast libraries. Many of the events are free so book in quickly to avoid disappointment.
As autumn has arrived and we're hoping for some cooler weather, it's time to think about planting out winter crops - you'll find some tips on what to plant in our Recommended Articles.
Highlights this month:

- NEW! Inspiring Story - We are thrilled to share Margaret's story about a well designed urban space with loads of practical features packed into a courtyard garden. Her clever application of permaculture principles, use of vertical structures; espaliered fruit trees; propagating; and repurposed materials shows it's possible to live sustainably on a tight budget. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment.
- NEW! The Green Blog - We've added a new feature to facilitate local conversations and share articles from our own team plus contributing writers, so check out the first post and contact us if you're interested in joining our Guest Bloggers (Remember to subscribe to new posts while you're there).
- NEW! Your Green Footprint - Clean Up our Environment - We're all concerned about keeping our own home clean and tidy but what about the environment more generally? Clean Up Australia Day events are on Sunday, 4 March, so we've featured some activities you can get involved in to make a positive contribution locally - not just on this date but throughout the year.
- Check Out our Home Page where you'll find a selection of articles and news on our website.
Our What's On calendar is packed with a comprehensive list of sustainable living events - updated daily. You'll find all the upcoming events in 16 categories (including two new ones). See all March events at a glance. Check it regularly to pick up a new skill with one of the workshops on offer and support some of the fantastic local food and environment events in our region.
We volunteer our time to add 1,000+ community events every year as a free service - Please share the Green Journey calendar on your social networks and tell your friends. We always appreciate support through donations and our online shop.
